As a small Boston startup, we at NICO & ROBO never shy away from opportunities where we can learn from other leaders and add value to the community. We are committed to never test our products on animals and we think when you put people and animals together, beautiful things can happen.
Today, we would like to spotlight "Salish Spirit", a Washington based non-profit organization that uses Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to help adults and children with special needs. We learned about this wonderful organization and annual programs they offer to their community from one of the board members in February.
For people that are not familiar with EAAT, it is a range of treatments that involve activities with horses (and other equines) to promote human physical and mental health. Salish Spirit has been helping many adults and children, including military families, to overcome personal challenges both physical and emotional
The mission of the organization is "to improve the lives of individuals in our community by providing equine-assisted therapy."
"We believe that through positive interactions with horses and Salish Spirit volunteers, participants in our programs will gain confidence, improve physical, emotional and social well being, and become more independent, productive and engaged community members. We’ve seen first hand the difference our programs have made for dozens of people."
In March, Salish Spirit will host it's 3rd Annual Cowboy Ball. Proceeds from the Ball will provide funding for their 8 week 2019 summer program which is offered at no cost to the riders. There will be BBQ dinner, live music (and dancing, of course), silent auction, door prizes, and all around good time! If you are near that part of the country, definitely check this out!
Additionally, NICO & ROBO will donate 10% of our sales in March to Salish Spirit from our online store. Treat your skin with our amazingly clean and effective sheet mask and help this meaningful organization (and NICO & ROBO) to grow!
Salish Spirit is a participant of the Amazon Smile program! Next time when you shop with Amazon (perhaps getting a box of our FIRM BELIEVER sheet mask), remember to choose them as your charity. Finally, you can also donate to them directly as well at salishspirit.org!
All the money raised will go towards:
Horse tack and special equipment
Insurance for our program
Training and ongoing education
