Holiday season has arrived and the social calendars are filling up. It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year! While the holidays bring people together, it also brings cold and dry weather. Of course we all want to look and feel our best, but the weather, the food, the end of the year work stress can wreak havoc on our skin.
Check out our five tips from NICO & ROBO and get your skin the holiday-party-ready glow you want!
1. Hydrate From Inside Out
Be aware that the drier the air, the drier the skin! Dehydration is one of the major causes of breakouts. It is because our oil glands overcompensate for the lack of moisture and what we often see is a gigantic zit (oh no)! To combat this annoying problem and truly hydrate our skin, we must also hydrate our body. In addition to use hydrating products with humectants (aka water binding agents) such as hyaluronic acid, let's remember to drink between at least 64 Oz of water a day. You will look and feel so much better if you properly hydrate your body.
2. Use our Firm Believer Sheet Face Mask
Here at NICO & ROBO, we are true believers of sheet masks. Although getting a nice spa facial is always a much deserved treat, a regular home skincare routine is just as important, if not more!
Try our FIRM BELIEVER FACE AND CHIN MASK. Our ultra-elastic patented sheet fabric is saturated with uniquely formulated anti-aging and hydrating ingredients. It not only nourishes your face, but covers the entire chin and lift your face skin from the chin up with functional ear loops.
3. Pause and Meditate
We all have so many things we need to (or want to) wrap up by the end of the year, and this non-stop business can quickly drive your stress levels off the chart. If you have not yet, you should give meditation a try. Meditation causes the pituitary gland in our brain to secrete endorphins and alters brain activity to enhance the area associated with positive emotional experiences.
At NICO & ROBO, we like to plan smart. We recommend to put on our FIRM BELIEVER MASK and enjoy the 15-minutes meditation session in the same time. After 15 minutes, you will be at a happy place with hydrated, radiant skin! Who doesn't want that!
4. Keep Moving
It's hard enough to exercise the rest of the year, but add holidays to the mix and many of us find exercise becomes almost impossible as to-do lists grow longer and longer. While this topic can certainly be a write-up on its own, we recommend to recruit others to help you stay accountable. Talk with a friend or your partner about your holiday fitness goals, and have them help you stay on track. Additionally, if you are feeling lazy, try change into your workout clothes and then decide whether you want to go to the gym or change back to your comfy clothes and stay at home. You might be surprised by how often you actually end up going to the gym.
5. Get Your Beauty Sleep
A good night's sleep is crucial to good skin and health. Our body repairs itself and recovers while sleeping, and that leads to a long list of benefits for your looks. Our body makes more stress hormone cortisol when we are sleep deprived. Elevated levels of cortisol can lead to increased stress and inflammation in the body, hurting our skin. Make sure to get 7 to 9 quality hours each night!
